Rhino launches High Fidelity Premium Vinyl series

Rhino Records is one of the most renowned labels specializing in reissues on vinyl. The label has been around for exactly 45 years and has already achieved cult status, particularly among audiophile vinyl collectors. Their portfolio includes bands and artists such as Black Sabbath, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin or Aretha Franklin.

The label has announced the launch of an exclusive premium vinyl series called „Rhino High Fidelity (Rhino Hi-Fi).“ Within this series high-quality limited vinyl reissues of classic albums will be released, aiming for an exceptional standard in terms of sound and packaging. At least that’s what Rhino Records is promising.

Two classic vinyl releases to kick off the series

As a starting point for Rhino Hi-Fi two albums will be reissued on vinyl: The Cars‘ self-titled debut album from 1978 and Coltrane’s Sound by John Coltrane. Both vinyl editions will be limited to 5,000 individually numbered copies. To ensure sonic excellence, Kevin Gray will cut lacquers for all Rhino Hi-Fi records and they will be pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Optimal in Germany.

Another hallmark of the Rhino High Fidelity series is exclusive content. The Cars‘ album will include a new interview with guitarist Elliot Easton about the equipment used during the recordings. Additionally, there will be tracking notes from producer Roy Thomas Baker on the recording of „Good Times Roll.“ Coltrane’s Sound will feature notes and images from the master tapes, along with an archival essay by the legendary producer Tom Dowd, who was responsible for engineering the album and numerous other classics on Atlantic Records.

In the future two vinyl editions will be released quarterly as part of the Rhino High Fidelity series. Rhino will have access to Warner Music’s extensive catalog including landmark albums from the worlds of jazz, blues, rock and pop.

Exclusively available via Rhino and Warner Music

The cost for each vinyl edition on is $39.98. If you live outside the United States you can order the records at the Dig! EU store, which is part of the Warner Recorded Music family. The price is 45£ or 52€, which is more expensive than the US store. But in terms of vinyl prices record collectors aren’t really spoiled at the moment.
