The german edition of the Record Store Day once again has an ambassador in 2024. And one could hardly have found a more suitable person for this role than Frank Turner, who consistently advocates for record stores as well as smaller clubs and venues. Most recently, he participated in the “Molotow Must Stay” campaign. Fans had the opportunity to pre-order his new album, securing tickets for an intimate show at the legendary Hamburg club that is unfortunately under the threat of closure.
“It’s a huge honour to be an ambassador for Record Store Day in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 2024. I’ve been involved in RSD in the UK in the past, but it’s just as important (and fun!) everywhere, and I have spent many happy hours in record shops across the German speaking world, from Coretex in Berlin to Rave-Up in Vienna to Heavy Weight in Zurich. I’m happy to be a part of it“, says Turner about his role as ambassador.
After contributing a single in 2013 and a double LP in 2023 as Record Store Day exclusives, Frank Turner is set to release another exclusive 7″ this year. Details are not yet available and the complete list of releases will only be unveiled in a few weeks. His new album ‘Undefeated’ will be released two weeks after Record Store Day on May 3rd. It will include an Indie Exclusive variant on purple vinyl, which will be available in every well-stocked record store after the excitement of Record Store Day subsides. Always remember: Every Day Is A Record Store Day.
