After Frank Turner was revealed as the ambassador for the Record Store Day in Germany, Austria and Switzerland last week, the global ambassador for 2024 has now been confirmed. This year, Paramore will be representing the international holiday for vinyl enthusiasts worldwide. The band put an end to rumors of their dissolution in a statement. There is absolutely no truth to such speculations; on the contrary, Paramore is aiming for a long-lasting career in the music industry. Their first move after the expiration of their 20-year contract with Atlantic Records is taking on the ambassadorial role. An independent band for independent record stores so to speak.
„Our first order of business as a freshly independent Paramore is to shine a light on independent record stores— a vital part of our journey from music obsessed school friends to professional music makers. (…) The discovery of music was always meant to be romantic. Indie record shops are some of the only spaces we’ve got that offer a tangible, tactile experience of music discovery. In this world that feels more disconnected and hostile than ever, it feels important to remain in touch (literally) with what inspires us, empowers us, or simply brings us joy. Thankfully, for all our sakes, there still survives among the chaos, the purity and radical simplicity of a great record store. “
Fans are likely eager to see if an exclusive release from the band will hit the shelves of record stores worldwide on April 20th. With their latest album ‚This Is Why‘ the band clinched two Grammy Awards, including one for the Best Rock Album, just a few weeks ago.
